YouTube Music continue to grow its presence in India and rack up millions of views every day, millions of people in India continue to head to YouTube to hear their favorite music. Now, as 2018 approaches its end point, we share the insight into which Bollywood music video collected the most plays this year, and to those who don’t understand the demographics of who listens to the most music on the site, the list might be somewhat surprising.

This year, Punjabi musicians took over the India’s most popular video platform like never before. In fact, of the top 10 most watched Indian music videos on YouTube, seven of them are sung in Punjabi, while the other three are in Hindi or other language.

Leading the way is the Punjabi queen Mannat Noor who sung Laung Laachi dominated the Punjabi music market in incredible fashion this year. The song is approaching incredible 700 million views, and it was surprisingly only released in Feb 2018.

The highest-ranking Hindi song is DILBAR from the Bollywood movie Satyameva Jayate, which comes in at No. 2 and which benefited from Nora Fatehi' sensational dance moves in the video.

Punjabi singer Jass Manak is by far the king of YouTube India this year, as his song Prada crossed more than 400 millions after it released in June 2018.
